Before relocating into a new area, most parents want to know is whether or not the schools will meet the needs of their children. There is no doubt that Hilton Head is a appealing place to visit and to live, but any involved parent really wants to know whether or not the schools are very good.
Fortunately, Hilton Head Island schools are excellent. Hilton Head Island schools consistently rank first in the Beaufort County School District, an impressive school district which focuses on putting technology in the hands of its students. For parents who prefer private schools, Hilton Head Island has several great schools to offer.
Hilton Head public schools are all located on a spacious campus, enabling parents to bring all their children to one central campus no matter what age they are. There are two elementary schools on this campus. The first, Hilton Head Island International Baccalaureate Elementary School, uses the IB Primary Years Program to educate students to think in global terms instead of focusing only on what’s in their own backyards. The Hilton Head School for the Creative Arts uses an arts-centered curriculum to guide students problem-solving and thinking skills in addition to foundational academic content.
Hilton Head Middle School and Hilton Head High School continue this tradition of culture, with the high school offering students the chance to conclude the IB diploma program. Students who earn the diploma or individual course certificates may earn college credit and are almost certain to have their pick of colleges and universities—even abroad. Newsweek has ranked Hilton Head Island high school at number 426 on its list of the top 1500 high schools in the nation.
There are also a number of private Hilton Head schools available to Hilton Head students, including Hilton Head Christian Academy, St. Francis Catholic School, Hilton Head Heritage Academy and Hilton Head Preparatory School. Contact a local realtor if you want more information about any of the private schools on Hilton Head Island.
